Jamie Gordon is in love with the Pacific Northwest, and the people that reside here with her. It only makes sense that she found her way into this industry, helping fellow resident’s plant roots of their own. "To be honest, the mortgage industry wasn't where I pictured myself, when thinking - what do I want to do when I grow up. When I graduated from Portland State, I pictured myself in the public school system or non-profit; something that would feel good and be making a difference." To her surprise, she's been able to find everything she wanted out of a career, plus some, by joining the Rose City Mortgage family.

Jamie has been in Portland since 2001. She grew up not far from here and has had the opportunity to try out many other cities in the US, which only helped solidify her choice of Portland. She loves all the things that make Portland so unique. "Naked bike rides, food carts a-plenty, great festivals, and we are one of the greenest cities in the country. It feels good to know that I am a part of a community that is looked to as a role model for other cities and states. My surroundings have inspired me and my family to do better, we now compost, grow a garden, buy local when possible and recycle, of course!".

Some of Jamie's personal favorite volunteer opportunities have come from being a part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Her little sister graduated from Gresham High in 2009. She also loves the organization Hands on Greater Portland, which posts a variety of volunteering opportunities around Portland. "It's great for those who can't commit to long term service, but can jump on line last minute to see where one can help. It's brilliant!" She has also done fundraising for March of Dimes, as it will always have an extra special place in her heart. Jamie had her first baby in 2009, and she was born nearly 3 months early. "It was such a roller coaster ride", as she remembers back, during that time. "The March of Dimes gave us so much support and information, we never felt that we were alone, going through something so scary." Jamie's daughter had a full and miraculous recovery, and she does what she can just to keep up with her, these days.

If you're looking for someone to take great care of you through the loan process, Jamie's the one. She will keep you informed and stay proactive, to ensure a smooth, painless experience. She has always closed her clients' loans on time, and tries to take as much anxiety out of it as possible. "Buying a home, whether it's your first or fifth, should be an exciting and happy experience." she says. "I've always thought, I have some of the best clients around and that sure makes my work seem less like a job".
