Our History
President and CEO Renee Spears founded the company in 1999 with Marketing Director Rob Agler. The company now employs 22 people and donates $100 from every loan to a non-profit organization. Since 2000, RCMS has contributed almost $100,000 to a variety of great causes. Rose City's headquarters is at 5200 S.W. Macadam, Suite 300, Portland, Oregon, 97239. We also have a branch office in Newberg. The company's unique approach to lending has led to financial success as well as benefits to the greater community and environment.

- Better Business Bureau of Oregon and SW Washington honored Rose City Mortgage as the 2005 Small Business of the Year.
- Portland Business Journal named President and CEO Renee Spears as one of Portland Business Journal's 2005 Business Women of the Year.
- Oregon's Association of Mortgage Professionals recognized Renee Spears twice as Mortgage Broker of the Month in 2004.
- For its "outstanding" work to reduce waste, reuse and recycle, Portland's Office of Sustainable Development recognized Rose City Mortgage Company with a Blue Award.

Rose City Mortgage specializes in first-time home buyers. Approximately 90 percent of the firm's business comes from referrals.
RCMS reaches out to women, young people, environmentalists, pet owners, AIDS patients, gays and lesbians and others who may not have been treated fairly in the lending process and whose cause we embrace.
The team environment fostered at Rose City brings harmony and excellent customer service.
JJ Lee Kwai, loan specialist, and Renee Spears co-founded the Greener Good women's marketing group. Both have served as board members of the Portland Area Business Association. JJ Lee Kwai brings a broad background to the table with her M.B.A. in sustainable business practices.
