Anne Viola grew up in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, dreaming of a life near the sea. That dream came true in 2005 when she moved to Portland. She appreciates Portland's small town feeling with big city offerings. "Portland has a mountain town feeling," says the Colorado native. She gets her snow fix snow shoeing on Mt. Hood. And of course, she and her partner make frequent trips to the beach with their husky/shepherd mix Ishai.
Anne's first love is soccer. She began playing at age five, but stopped after high school. A few years ago, a friend asked her to help coach a team for nine-year-old boys. Anne's feet began to itch again for the feel of cleats and the adrenalin rush of scoring goals. She joined a women's league team and has been kicking her way around the West ever since. As a matter of fact, Anne met her partner at a soccer tournament in Seattle.
In her spare time Anne volunteers with the Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC) and attends Clackamas Community College. She's also spearheaded Rose City's involvement in Habitat for Humanity. Her pet project is "Women Build" where all-female work crews build homes, usually for a single mom in need. Anne is also co-founder of the WoMyN’s networking group (article page 01, article page 02).
Anne is a Portland Area Business Association (PABA) member and she enjoys working with the gay and lesbian community. She especially likes helping first time homebuyers and those who find the process of buying a home nerve-wracking.
With a background in accounting, Anne is confident she can break down the numbers for you in a way you can easily understand. As a matter of fact, she's been told she has a naturally calming demeanor. So if you have any anxiety about purchasing a new home, Anne is the person you want to deal with. Give her a call.
